Today was a pretty relaxing day. Something I needed considering I was going to be working for 12 hours tonight. Erin's mom, Carla, came out today and thankfully, Natalie was a lot more receptive to seeing her. I think it helped that she had just had a two hour nap before seeing Carla. It took a few minutes for Natalie to get warmed up to her but once she did, it wasn't long before the two of them were playing together and reading books together. It was very cute.
I got some exciting news last night. The Across the Years 72/48/24 hour foot race, which is held over the New Year holiday and the 2 days prior, was cancelled last year but is back on for this year. So I've signed up for the 24 hour race but because so many people sign up for this race, it requires a lottery to get in. I won't know if I'll be running the race until the results of the lottery come out on May 1st. I already know what my goals are going to be for this race if I do get in:

1) Run/walk/crawl my way to the finish
2) Run for at least 23 hours
3) Complete at least 100 miles in those 24 hours

I still plan on running the Las Vegas Marathon on the 5th of December but if I get in to ATY I'll be using the marathon as training run leading up to ATY instead of trying to improve on my time from the SD marathon in June.

I'm very excited and my running prep is even more important to me now. I'm going to have to start logging more miles, but I'm also going to have to walk that fine line between increasing my miles and not injuring myself.
