Anyways, today was a really good day. Although I thought that it would be disastrous when I woke up this morning. I had to go in to work for a monthly meeting. It wasn't really all that informative and the information that did get put out, probably could have been sent out in an email but I guess I understand their need to get together once a month just so that everyone can get on the same page and voice any questions, or opinions. The good thing about me having to get up so early for this meeting is that it got me out of the house early. I had a lot to do today because I had to buy the wife a birthday present and a Valentines Day gift. We usually only get each other one gift for the two celebrations but this year we've been very fortunate and felt that as long as we didn't overspend we could get each other one gift for each day. It took me about 4 hours to finally get her presents picked out and of course I had to get myself a couple things as well. I got myself a wallet that matches the Navy's new cami's...I know, I'm kinda gay. I also got a new Nike T-shirt that just says "RUN" on it...simple, just like running is.

One thing about wife and I that everyone should know is that when it comes to receiving gifts, she and I are both very impatient. So even though our birthdays and Valentine's day isn't until next week...we celebrated today and we gave each other our gifts. I got a new T-shirt, an Itunes gift card, Godiva chocolates (YUM!), and a new leather bound journal and pens so that I can write a poem should the inspiration ever strike me...(Increasingly unlikely). Despite my skepticism, I love my all my gifts and I'm happy that I got to open my presents today instead of next week.

The rest of today was pretty much uneventful, after all, how can you top getting gifts? You can't. It's just not possible. So we just relaxed which I'm completely OK with because the rest of this weekend is going to be packed with activities, between running, going to the MotoX races, and SeaWorld...I don't know when else I would have had time to rest before going back to work. All these activities are all under the assumption that the heavens don't open up and soak us with the rain that has been predicted for this ENTIRE weekend...although, I do believe it rained tonight so hopefully we'll get a break...at least on Sunday because I kinda do want to go to SeaWorld. It helps that wife and I get in free because I'm military and Anheuser-Busch loves the military. So thank you to the Anheuser-Busch Co. but I'll take your free park entry, but I'm still a Sam Adams guy.
